I don't know how many of you may have used the WDC chat feature years ago when it was active, but I frequented the chat room quite a bit. I was able to meet a number of fantastic people and have some interesting conversations, both writing and non-writing related.

I would love to encourage more members to come over to our Discord server  Open in new Window. and check it out if you've ever been curious of what a writer-filled chat room would be like! Discord does make you create an account but if you don't like the service or don't want to stick around the chat, you can always delete it.

Long time no see! I haven't been around here much at all for the past...6 months or more, I guess? I debated just letting my Upgraded membership lapse but I had almost enough GPs for a year so I went ahead and renewed, thus why I'm writing this post and am actually here at the moment!

Work has been even busier for me during these COVID times than they were when we were all still in the office (I got pulled away 3 times by things while typing this out). On the plus side, I'll be continuing to work from home for the foreseeable future, even with Cornell opening for some hybrid classes this fall. We have to take a bit of a pay cut for the next year but my contract was recently renewed for 2 years so I'll take still having a job even with the cut.

I don't really write anymore aside from the occasional training document, technical documentation, or presentation, so I haven't had much reason to be around here. I'm more active on Facebook  Open in new Window. and Twitter  Open in new Window. anymore so I'd invite ya'll to catch me there if you want. If you add me, you will see unabashed Socialist content, probably some Animal Crossing: New Horizons stuff, and just personal life updates.

Thanks for the update! Glad your renewed contract was secured with good timing.
