In your poem "I met a coward"
I think a lot of readers aren't understanding what "couples of ball" means.

Actually,I tried to use the phrase "You got some balls" which means that someone has some courage. But in this case, I used this to visualise a number of people. As one man got a couple of ball so 40 men would have 40 couples of balls. Maybe it was too casual.
