On a day like this, 3 years ago, I arrived here as a new writer with a dream. After the downfall of one of my favorite interactives in here, I took it upon myself to create a spiritual successor to it, hoping to one day match a fraction of how good it was. With just some limited experience posting greentexts on /d/, I spent around 4 years developing my characters and writing numerous short stories, most of which were sadly lost but have been revived in the current interactive in some capacity. Then I ventured into creating an interactive story. Sadly, many of these are often left unattended by their creators and thus only some thrive, driven entirely by the readers and writers that enjoyed the premise or the characters. I didn't want to be the same, even if I was a completely inexperienced writer in the fields I wanted to cover here, I made a personal compromise to lay out a solid foundation in the form of well crafted storylines leading up to the parts where hopefully better and more experienced writers would take it from there. That was half a success, several good writers became a part of this project and further enriched it with more characters to add to the roster, more storylines and their own chapters as well. But on that alone, this interactive wouldn't have gotten as far as it has in these 3 years. At some point through just writing over and over, not trying to toot my own horn or anything but I became if not proficient, at least confident enough in my ability to carry these storylines through, no longer having to fully depend on other writers. Although not my only piece of work, it's by far the largest and the one I've invested most into so I can proudly consider it my magnum opus at least until proven otherwise. I want to thank everyone that's chimed in and have added anything to keep this going, from reviews from readers to the numerous writers that joined to support this project. It's been quite a ride and I'm not gonna quit anytime soon. |
Hey guys, I guess you've noticed the slowdown in activity around here these days. I'm taking care of some long overdue commissions, but most importantly, I've been battling with covid for a few weeks now and the harsh fever has been leaving me quite drained, literally. I'm eating just once a day and sleeping/resting a whole lot more. This has put me in a bit of a financial pinch, as kind of expected, and I could use your help, if you enjoy my work you know I do it in good faith and will keep putting my heart and soul into it for as long as humanly possible. If you can spare a few bucks to help, I have my online tip jar at: https://ko-fi.com/random_anon. Any help is appreciated and welcome. |
Posting late as usual, but this time for a slightly better cause, I hope. I learned that yesterday was Mother's Day in the US. Not sure how it works, as in Mexico it's always on the 10th of May, but anyway, as a little thing to commemorate both dates, starting yesterday and until the end of the 10th we're gonna get some more content of one of our favorite moms from the interactive. A new route is being created, a bit unusual compared to the previous ones but I hope it's just as enjoyable as those. After that I'll resume work on the storylines I was working before this. |
Here's another late night post from yours truly. This time the topic may not be the most comfortable, and for the record, I wanna clarify that offending or making anyone uncomfortable was never the aim of the story. What am I talking about? The subject of some of the characters' age in my interactive. Unless you've been following from the beginning over a year ago, you probably wouldn't even know that the main character's age was originally 18. Now, before continuing, I must say that age in my particular case is a plot device that's only there for consistency with the world setting (which is highschool/late teen stuff). I believe that my characters aren't really shown to be or act like they're too young, with the main aim is to basically have them be functional sub-adults. Probably a bit too adult-like if you wanna nitpick how I write these supposedly teenaged characters lmao. Anyway, when fellow writers chimed in and added characters to enrich the cast, something funny happened, the main trio were already supposed to be highschool seniors, two of them aged 18 and one 19, but some of the newer characters that were introduced were also intended to be seniors, but were written in a way that indicated that they'd be older than the main trio. At the time, specially since there weren't as many chapters written yet, the solution to me was to bump the main trio down from seniors to sophomores, and changed the ages to 17 and 18, with me naively believing that it was a harmless change, and I mean, if you've seen stuff like H-manga or anime, you'll know that main characters tend to be even younger than that, but I'm not using that as a justification, just citing an example of an instance where this stuff also happens. Anyway, I posted a poll about this topic a while ago, and the community's response has been overwhelmingly in favor of upping the ages to 18 for all characters that are currently below that. So, this change kinda tears some plotholes in the story that I'm not too sure how to patch up. Namely the fact that at least 2 of the characters are supposed to be in their freshman year. For the people that care about this: What kind of change would you prefer? To somehow have them be 18yo and still be in their freshman year or a more aggressive retcon that places them in sophomore/senior years? The latter would imply some change to their personalities and their relationships as well, though to be fair only one of them has a route to her name as of now. |
Hey, Random Anon here again! Uh, I'm noticing a slight pattern lol, I haven't posted much stuff here other than informing after a period of inactivity. Hope that changes for the better eventually. Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates these days, my Internet connection broke down on a physical level (namely the ethernet cable) and to find someone able and willing to fix it in the backwards town I live in sadly took way too long, but hey, it's finally fixed! So I'll be getting back to it, even if I wasn't able to write, my mind has been at work lol. |
Sorry for the lack of updates on my part these last few days, two unrelated things kept me physically drained lol: - A short business trip to a neighboring state I had to do, and with nowhere to stay nor the money for it, I had to take care of it in a single day, which meant I traveled 400km in a single day. That might not be much for US standards but it was sure exhausting, even when going by bus. - The water heater (what we locally call a boiler) frickin' exploded, so I'd been running around the house fixing/getting stuff fixed. Thankfully both of these things are over and I've rested enough, I think. So I'll try to catch up on my own overdue chapter backlog. Also, I still have some pending commissions I'll be finishing/publishing throughout February, so stay tuned for that. Lastly, thanks to everyone that's been adding to this story! You guys rock! For a long time I carried on by myself and I wasn't sure if this story was liked at all, but I've noticed that these days I've been getting fan'd lol. Which is also nice, and I thank you guys for sticking around this long, whew, it's already been one year already... |
Hey, just letting you guys know that I did mean to write more yesterday but stuff happened, my cat opened the friggin window and went to fight strays. Had to get him back before my asshole neighbors killed him and in short, had a terrible, sleepless night. After some rest and no more shenanigans hopefully I can do a couple more chapters. |
Hey, Random Anon here. Today I did something a little different, I added a chapter to another interactive. I have enjoyed G-Writer 's written works for many years and for once I decided to add a little something to one of his stories. If you enjoy my works, I highly recommend his, though on some regards mine is quite more tame by comparison, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. But it's pretty friggin good, and in some ways, it might have helped inspire/shape my own writing. I think I was in friggin highschool when I read some of those stories. It feels like I've come in full circle, regarding that lol. Never thought I'd be able to do this. It's like the kid that meets one of his heroes and finally grows up and gets to do something alongside them. Sorry for boring you with that rambling. In any case, if you want to check it out, it's here: "Victoria’s Secret Alternate [Random Anon's take]" Later, I'll be adding this portion to other places for some more visibility. Btw, I'm still gonna add a chapter for my interactive so, stay tuned. |
Welp, I'm finally back, got a new PSU and RAM sticks for my computer, those will have to do, and hopefully this computer can last some more time. I technically fixed my pc since yesterday, it took me like 8 hours to take it apart, there were so many friggin cables to disconnect and reconnect... phew, putting a new PSU in was tougher than I thought. But then again, my PC assembling knowledge had gotten rusty, I knew how to do it in the late 90's - early 2000's. Damn, I'm old. In any case, I didn't want to just nonchalantly come back after this prolonged absence, so, together with it, I also added a new chapter to my interactive, so, if you dig my work (which I assume, if you're reading this lol) please go check it out. I'll resume work on the regular routes I was doing, but my output will probably slow down a bit more than usual because I seriously need to catch up on my commissioned work. Also, thanks to everyone who helped keep this story alive while I was unable to do so myself. I was feeling a bit disheartened by how quickly it was dying without me pumping life into it every day. Not gonna lie, I miss various writers' contributions, but I guess they're all busy and struggling with life just like yours truly in here. As to why I decided to pick up an unrelated chapter to the ones I had left off prior to these shenanigans, that's quite simple (I think). I happened to open Youtube, and on my list of channels I'm subscribed to, I saw it... You know which one I'm talking about. That one crazy dragon girl that brought many smiles to the Internet while it lasted, and damn, that struck a sad chord in my head. Pretty much had this playing in my head, remembering that she's gone, and that the channel's dead. So, I took on that feeling and decided to throw a bone to the character I made in tribute to her memory. I do intend to continue that route, but I have to do the commissioned one, and the rest will depend on mood and community feedback. Sorry for boring you with this aimless rambling. TL;DR, I'm back, for anyone that cares lol. I'll try to at least do one chapter every day, but depending on a lot of stuff, I may be able to do more, or sometimes not post on a given day, but probably post a few extra chapters the following day. It's nice to be back, and happy reading/writing! |
Awesome to see you back man! I also feel bad about how quickly the interactive has slowed down in the last period since you've been inactive. Just know that the route I've been working on over these past several months is going to be HUGE, I've just had a lot of things standing in the way from actually getting to work on it. Not a day goes by without me thinking about it, I hope I can share it with you soon. |
Hey, Random Anon here. Sorry guys for the long absence. A bunch of things happened but I won't bore you with the details. In short, my trusty old pc is dying and I can't fix it. The CPU and MOBO are likely giving out. Thankfully the graphics card and hard drives are still good so no data loss. But I'm gonna have to buy a pc, when I was so close to paying off my pandemic debt, damnit lol. In any case, I apologize but I can't get any writing done for the time being. |
Of course, reviews and comments helps but hurts so many times. Because I watched that bad comments causes writers to leave the novel site so much.
Eres muy bueno y te ayudare en lo que sea que necesites amigo
