My computer - or internet connection - or both! chose to act up all weekend and I'm so behind. I had to resort to pen and paper to jot down my ideas this weekend. It made me smile to come back to an inbox with several reviews and I'm looking forward to catching up.
Oops, I learned something today. I've been editing a piece quite frequently and added something that changed the content rating but I didn't even think about that. A moderator politely did it for me. I appreciate the help!

A tricky business, content rating. I always try to rate one level higher than is strictly necessary - saves a lot of hassles later.
Ha Ha! Oh ya, they can be sneaky! *Laugh*
Grum, I think I will do that as well on the pieces that I know that I will be editing. Great idea, thank you!
Thank you so very much! I actually took a look at the Simply Positive forum the other day and have been considering joining! And thank you so much for the pretty orange ribbon! I got the notification and haven't yet figured out how to get to the right place to post my thanks! More coffee is needed!

Simply positive is a great group! We give reviews but always include and hopefully end on a positive note to encourage the writer.

Simply Positive really is a great group! It is my go-to group, and the rewards are great! The gift point pay-outs are 1000gp each for medium to long reviews. Plus, if you do 6 or more in one week, they give you a c-note with extra gp and a merit badge every other week or so. I bet you'll love it. *Smile* If you're interested in that one, I say go for it!

And you're welcome! I'm happy to award new people who are branching out, giving reviews, and getting involved. It's awesome to see!
Perhaps I'm finally going to eat, sleep and breathe writing. I dreamed about WDC last night. A reviewer told me that my piece didn't inspire them to read. I have been concerned that the majority of readers aren't interested in the little nonfiction ramblings of my mind.

If I've learned anything here, it's that you can't please everyone all of the time. Just secretly call them some names, ^%%%%#*&^&(($$$##%& and continue on.*BigSmile* Reviews are like fishing ... some, you have to throw back. *Smile*
Thanks so much. Yes, I've learned that with my jewelry and sculpting. Not everyone is going to like it. After all, I don't like everything that comes along, either, and that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with it. Just a matter of personal interest and taste.
Hmm. Time for a proper review, I think; frog cakes will only go so far. IMHO, your so-called "non-fiction ramblings" are very readable - and they tell us a great deal about you.

Wow... you're doing tons of reviews. I'd consider joining a review group. They give gift points and other perks for doing reviews for them. Basically, you're doing the work already... might as well get some perks! *Laugh*

Considering the quality and length of your reviews, I think "WdC SuperPower Reviewers GroupOpen in new Window. is a good match for you. You're welcome to check out some others though. The one I use most often is Simply Positive because my reviews tend to be super long. *Wink* Anyway, here's the list:

Okay, so I wrote a poem, too "Equal OpportunityOpen in new Window. Now I'm going to bed.
It's been a long day but I actually forced myself to write so that I wouldn't lose the inspiration "No U-TurnOpen in new Window. Time for bed now!
Edited
I think I'm getting on the right track now. It's not supposed to be any kind of a tirade. Some of it needs to be weeded out but some should still be included, just not as a tirade.

Everything can always be improved, but we can go insane looking for the "how" answers. I now have pork gravy for brains as a result! *Laugh*
Hmm, IMHO, "Roots And WingsOpen in new Window. doesn't have the characteristics of a tirade. Much more a thoughtful, considered statement of beliefs which may well fall outside the generally accepted norms. Well, good for you - there should be more of this; IMHO (again) it should be much more widely read.
Thank you both so very much! It still needs a lot of work - thank you for taking the time to look!
The more I edit my latest piece, the more I seem to be messing it up. I've said some important stuff - that doesn't belong in this piece but should be written about elsewhere. I do feel like I'm getting a handle on what I need to be writing. *WitchHat*
I've done 14 reviews since I became active here, and I've received gift points and thank you e-mails, but no one has reviewed or even rated my stuff although it's had views. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
with 80,000 people here, igt's easy to get missed. email me a note reminding me and i'll see ewhat I can do, sorry, brace on hand is messing me jop.
Am I the only nut who takes notes during Oprah's Super Soul Sundays?
I'm not, lol but I'm sure there are plenty of other nuts who are. lol
love, LinnAnn
And I got so excited that I forgot to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
Oh, WOW. What a great start to the new year - some amazing person gifted me an upgraded membership! I am completely blown away! Thank you so very, very much! I was seriously considering upgrading in the near future to make myself write - now I really have to!
It's New Year's Eve, the typical goal setting time. I've never been very good at that. I have a bad habit of just winging it, knowing that I'm working toward an end result but rarely being specific about it. There's so much I want to do this year, and I am indeed aware of the obstacles that I have to face, that I alone must remove. I am encouraged in that I know that I have the power to do this. Now all I need to do is to act upon it, and not give up so easily.
So, after a few months of buying some writing magazines and a few weeks of attending a refresher grant writing class, I've finally signed up for something. The past several years have been - interesting - and I haven't written. It's time to discipline myself and do some writing every day. I have a book that I started that is currently handwritten in a notebook. I read somewhere once that if you don't act upon the ideas that the Universe gives you, the Universe may also take it away from you. I fear that may be true.
