It seems like my free portfolio limit has reached and I don't have the amount to pay for membership so I might not be posting from now on and will read instead, I guess. Might be my last post though and here's the couplet I wanted to share with you all. I never dwell in sorrow's grasp, I only seek joy in life's clasp. And thank you everyone that liked my poems, I love this community. -Luna |

How to enter in contests? Thanks for the replies in advance 🥰❤️ |
Welcome to WdC, Luna! ![]() ![]() ![]() You have to find one first. Several places have them listed, but try going to the Community tab on the left, then pick Contests. ![]() Read the instructions. Every contest has somewhat different instructions. But for each, you'll have to submit an entry in some way. Generally, they want you to submit an entry in bitem format, though many also allow entry formats, but that's if you have a blog/book item on here, which since you're new, I'm assuming you don't yet. It's often created when you need more space in your portfolio and instead of creating a new item in your port for every contest entry, you create it in your book/blog item and post a link to that 'page' for the judges. You need ML code to do either. To create any code on WdC, you use the curly braces located above the square brackets on your keyboard. You also need your item's ID number. It's the 7 digits located below the title. Don't use any spaces in ML code. We have two main ways to link to an item you've created--item and bitem (big item). Most contests want a bitem entry. Item links are more for conversational use. Using my own challenge (where the challenge is to enter a contest every month for a year), I'll demonstrate the code. {item:2109126} = "The Contest Challenge" ![]() {bitem:2109126} ![]()
As for the Community Newsfeed, be sure to check that out! When you click Newsfeed, you'll be taken to your Personal Newsfeed by default. Here you only see official WdC stuff and stuff by people whose plus sign you've clicked. You're missing out on so much! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good luck! Have fun! And welcome to WdC! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
BTW, this is the WdC birthday week so September 1-7 there's a lot more going on than normal. ![]() |

The Ideas for Review Suggestions/Corrections dropnote will help you find some things to not only help others you are reviewing, but since you are new, I'd be willing to bet there's a few things there that will help you as well.
The How to Earn Extra GPs dropnote shows ways and places to get more for your review.
Plus, there are some groups on here who may provide you with a free Upgraded membership for a limited time if you show you are a participating and valuable member of WdC.
You can also socialize on the Community Newsfeed. Click Newsfeed, then along the top of your Personal Newsfeed, click View the Community Newsfeed. There's many more activities going on, especially today and even this month for the b'day. "FROST-WITCH Bingo!"
