I've always been intrigued by the idea of an English-speaker watering the garden in the company of a non-English-speaking guest.
ENGLISH: "Would you step 'round and water my dog, please?
NON GOES 'ROUND BACK.
DOG IS HEARD YELPING.
ENGLISH CHECKS TO FIND NON SPRAYING DOG WITH HOSE AS ENGLISH WAS WATERING THE GARDEN.

         It could be worse though. Suppose ENGLISH were to ask NON to "Walk the dog" --- and NON is a Yoyo World Champ!!! *Wink*
Humble Poet PNG Author Icon - To understand the importance of voice inflection, watch the first ten or fifteen minutes of the John Wayne movie Rio Lobo and pay attention to the colonel's order to Lt. Forsythe and the way the inflection (and precise intent of the words) gets lost by the time it reaches the lieutenent. It amazes me every week when I watch that movie!

He is no longer in pain,
but please keep his wife and family in your thoughts,
because their pain is now much deeper.

I'm so sad to hear this.

Angelo is such a wonderful person and was always so lovely on here - and a damn good writer too!! He wrote a number of stories that made me cry, which is apt at the moment as I write through some tears.

I hope that all the cards Angelo will be receiving via Snail Mail (it generally takes 2 weeks from New Zealand) will give his family joy and comfort even though they will probably be hard to read.

Wow what a shock and needed to process it. I've been thinking about it and found myself writing about the time we took a class here together. It was strange reading over his lesson for the final. I'm hoping to share some in my blog and review it. We will miss you Bikerider 💖 but will celebrate you and your writing.

Good Morning, WdC Friends.

For those who have been wondering where Bikerider Author Icon is and what he's up to; well, he has asked me to share an update.

For the past few months he has been battling Stage 4 cancer with radiation and chemotherapy. While some improvement was initially noted, the cancer continues to spread and is aggressive. His doctors have advised him that there is nothing they can do and our dear friend will begin hospice treatment.

He is surrounded by his lovely wife, children, and grandchildren who shower him with lots of love and support. Please keep the family in your thoughts during this difficult journey.
