Happy anniversary
Happy wdc anniversary
So I just went to try to see how much the thumb ring holders are for the wings that hold the book pages open are, it seems as if they are no more than $4.95 but the shipping was something close to $44.00. Is this seriously necessary? I live in Vancouver, BC I don't mind paying shipping fees or the cost of this product but this seems to be a bit excessive. I am a HUGE fan of this community and do nothing but talk about it to my family members and friends that love the same hobbies as I do. Seems as if this site needs to do some research on shipping costs and why I would never personally be able to buy anything from them at this cost.

Such a shame but I will continue to support those on this community no matter what and continue to review
and help those who are in the same shoes that I am.

Fellow Canadian here. Several of my friends and I ship packages back and forth over across the border. One friend on each coast, one in the midwest.

The shipping costs can easily be double or triple the cost of what I'm sending, and the savings between different providers is minimal.

For example, a slim paperback book sent to me from the states - 21 CAD to buy, nearly 50 CAD to ship with tracking.

Assortment of Canadian candy sent out to the US west coast - 30 CAD in Candy, just under 45 CAD to ship, no tracking, no insurance, no box (bubble envelope only).

Even sending things to my kids at university within Canada, shipping costs could easily run well over 100 CAD, depending on what I was shipping.

So, yes, I agree with Northernwrites. Take into account how it's packaged, shipped, tracked (or not) and the base prices of the preferred carrier.

In the before times, I kept a PO box in the USA because it is ridiculously cheaper to ship and receive within the country than over the border. Even with the drive to the border, border crossing fees, and paying duty on the way back, it was hundreds of dollars of cheaper per year.

Shipping is horrendous here in New Zealand too. I follow one author online who offers signed books with fixed international shipping prices, and I was so excited that the shipping was affordable. So far I have bought six of her books that way, I think! Such a great deal for those of us in far-flung places...or in Canada. *Laugh*
Looking for contests for a beginner author that wants to expand her experiences and horizons in this amazing community! Any tips or ideas of where to look or begin? Please let me know any advice is welcomed and I would love to know anything that might put me on the right path.

Thank you fellow writers and readers,
