Hi everyone! As the year's coming to an end, it's the perfect time to look back at all the helpful reviews you've received and newsletters you have read, the fun contests and activities you have participated in, and of course all of the amazing items you have enjoyed. If you think of any, why not take a moment to nominate them in the Quills! You can do so using this form:
It's quick and easy, and you can nominate as many items and people as you like (as long as you follow the rules, of course). There are not many nominations at the moment. Quite a few categories have no nominations at all! The Quills are what our community make it, so if you can help out by nominating excellent people and items, please do so. Thank you! You can see what has been nominated so far here: "2024 Quill Award Nominees" [E]. I will put my nominations where my mouth is - I am preparing quite a list to send in. Sorry, not sorry, Lilli is QUILLING! ! |
I haven't had the most productive year... that would've been 2005 and 2017... but I did write some things and won a couple contests. Still... no Quill nominations. Last year I had to nominate myself. I vowed that I wouldn't do that this year. |
Kåre เลียม Enga - It could be that there are still some nominations to be announced. Or people are running a bit behind this year, like me. I know that I'll be looking at all my contest winners of the past year. |
Kit - Most contest winners should be nominated. Even a runner-up may be suitable, especially if it's in a seldom used genre or a category that is begging for entries. |
Open, open, open!
Hope to see you there! |
Dear Kitti, I read about your Dad's surgery, and I am hoping that your next post will be one of good news in some form. I can only imagine how you and your family must be feeling at this time, especially with it being the holiday season and all. If ever there was a time for a proverbial Christmas miracle, maybe it's now. All the same, I am sending you good vibes and strength for everyone to get through this. |
Tomorrow, my dad will be undergoing colorectal cancer surgery. It's his second time battling cancer. Unfortunately, he's also been diagnosed with early-stage dementia and there is a risk that the surgery may lead to further cognitive deterioration, either temporarily or permanently. It's a stressful situation, so I may be a little quiet the next couple of days. Either that, or I'll throw myself into things as a form of distraction. We shall see what happens. If I am a little quiet, though, please don't worry. I am never far away. |
For "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" I would like to highlight the wonderful 🌻 pwheeler ~ love joy peace . If you don't yet know Phyllis, you are missing out. She's a kind and super friendly person who's always ready to lift people up and encourage them to be their best selves. She runs "Habit Heroes " [13+], which has helped me establish some better habits. I am already pondering next year's goals and I know I'll stand a much better chance at achieving them with Phyllis and the Habit Heroes crew having my back. Phyllis spreads a lot of joy around the site. This community's so much better with her in it. She's an excellent writer, too. Go check out her portfolio! There's bound to be something you'll enjoy. Most recently, she's published some really cool journals. Check out her notebook for the links. Oh, and she loves cats. That's a definite green flag in my opinion! |
It's the final couple of days of
