Greetings, all!

I just wanted to introduce myself to the community, and say good luck to everyone out there! We are living through some crazy times right now and in order to handle all the stress, I've thrown myself back into my work as a means of escape and (hopeful) clarity. I write and read YA Fiction/Fantasy/romance in my free time. I also enjoy paranormal and folklore works!

Along with being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also read and write for that community as well. I do everything I can to be diversity inclusive as well. The reason for my being here is I am currently attempting to get my first book published. I realized a while ago that in order to stop getting rejected by Literary Agents, I need constructive criticism of my work, as well as seeing others creativity to gain understanding and new perspective.

Question: I write in first person ... apparently this is uncommon? It is uncommon because it's disliked or because it difficult? According to my partner, it's 'weird' lol.

Best wishes to everyone in their writing endeavors! I'll be trying to get involved in some contests soon. Can't wait to get involved with this wonderful community!
It's uncommon because it's trickier, I think. But there are plenty of modern novels in first person. Regardless, you should write the way you write. Write the way your brain works.
