So my fearless and constant companion, a bull terrier called Amy, ate my copy of Lord Byron's poetry today. She has good taste. (pun intended, forgive me. What's the oddest thing your dog has eaten?

Don't have a dog, unfortunately, but my friend's dog ate a whole punnet of pills (chewed up most of the plastic, too). It was a cause of momentary panic, but luckily he was all right. Animals. *Facepalm*

...wait. Humans are animals too.

Humans. *Facepalm*

it happened when i was a teen, Satan, my German Shepherd ate a used condom -- it was lying on the street, he grabbed it before i realized what he was sniffing at
The Great Dane I was raised with ate one of my pet mice. He had to break down my bedroom door to do it. We think he also ate some of the door. I had a cat who loved Smucker's seedless strawberry jelly (not any other brand, or any other product by Smucker's).
Peace and love angel. Peace and love.
The following is an ancient anglo saxon riddle...I'm offering 500 gp's to each person who can answer it correctly.

I'm by nature solitary, scarred by

spear

and wounded by sword, weary of

battle.

I frequently see the face of war, and

fight

hateful enemies; yet I hold no hope

of help being brought to me in the

battle,

before I'm eventually done to death.

In the stronghold of the city sharp-

edged swords,

skillfully forged in the flame by

smiths

bite deeply into me. I can but await

a more fearsome encounter; it is not

for me

to discover in the city any of those

doctors

who heal grievous wounds with roots

and herbs.

The scars from sword wounds gape

wider and wider

death blows are dealt me by day and

by night.

What am I?
