Dennis is in the rehab center for physical therapy for 20 days. He was good and did not fuss. He doesn't understand and dosent remember what I tell him so I will keep telling him. I will go tomorrow to see him and how the night went but not going everyday. I am tired and I need time to rest and regroup! Next hurdle will be getting a room at the nursing home I want him to live at. At the end of this 20 days. God has been answering my prayers going to trust Him to take care of that step too. Please pray for the next hurdle to go smoothly and this rehab will be good for him and he will not be fussy. Thank you to all who read and responded to these posts with prayers and concern. I really appreciate them. |

Here is the update on Dennis. I called ems sunday a little after noon because he was having chest pains. They took him to hospital did exrays bloodwork looked at his records. The main artery/vein has a lot of plaque buildup. So I was co cerned. The er dr said he would like to keep him for observation and I agreed so he was admitted sunday late afternoon. After many blood tests and wearing heart monitor it was decided that it was not dangerous and a workup could be done outpatient. They were going to dismiss him today. When I got there around noon. Therapy had been in to work with him because he can no longer get up and down by himself and him trying to walk is dangerous. He has had many falls. He was sitting in a chair eating lunch. He seemed alert and talkative. When the nurse came in to check his blood pressure it was extremely low. They were concerned and called dr on call. She said to put him back in bed and retake bp after about 15 min. They did that his bp stayed down to dangerous levels. The raised the foot of his bed so blood would go to his head still low they gave hin an IV bolis?? He started to improve. I told them I could not take him home like that they agreed. So his discharge has been postponed. When I left he had finished dinner and was feeling better. His bp had come up to 102over85. I was glad if that. They are working with therapy to get him in rehab for his mobility. If that happens he will be in nursing home skilled unit for 20 days I think. Then hopefully a room would be ready in regular part of nursing home for him to be admitted to live there. I am trying for our chosen nursing home. I'm long winded sometimes. I am praying that all of this come true. I am having a hard time taking care of him at home by myself and his attitude with the dementia leaves a lot to be desired! I need your prayers cause I'm at the end of what I can do. Thank you all for listening and praying. |

Went to Elder Care attorney today..I have to redo POAs and wills and 2 other things. Once those things are done..we can move forward to medicaid. He knew his stuff..all my assets will be protected! It was a relief to find all this out. Went to nursing home I want him in..it is great! Big..clean..many things to do..NO SMELL! It will be about a month before they have a Medicaid bed but there is light at the end of the tunnel! God is so good! |
