Happy (belated) Birthday!
Is it bad that I feel really accomplished just because I reached 10,000 words in my first novel? I know that's not even a quarter of what it needs to be considered a novel but I still feel like that. Well, back to writing.

10K words is certainly something to be proud of, but...Don't stop there! I wrote a short piece (5K words) and people told me I should turn into a novel. That was over a YEAR ago, and I still have yet to get back to it! Only 500 words a day turns into 50,000 words in just 100 days! The average minimum length of a 'novel' is 80,000 words. Set up a schedule and keep to it!
