I'm new to all this and find the website a little intimidating. I first thought "Notebook" would be for private notes but now believe it is open for all to see, so I suppose I should be careful what I write.
Ah! I've just discovered I can choose who sees this. Thinks: I need to spend more time exploring the website.

You can put your private stuff in Notepad (accessible from the menu on the left). It takes a while to get the hang of the site, but there will always be people around the newsfeed who can offer advice.
