"The Root of Life, The Tree of Life, The Flour of Life AND The Fruit of Life ." Any person having a basic education in Geometry knows that Geometry and symmetry can be found all throughout nature. Every student of Geometry has heard of Fibanocci, The Golden Mean and of Phi. Some may be more familiar with the number sequences 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,55 etc, ad infitinum. Still others may know of the Pythagerian Theory , but some are more familiar with the term "Sacred Geometry". My intentions behind this thesis is to explore these ideas a little deeper. Can mathematics prove the existence of Man's Soul and it's creator ? That will be the crux of this thesis. Science already proves that many things have existence beyond the abilities of most advanced equipment of science to see. Such things as Dark Matter and Anti-Matter can not be observed by science's most advanced tools. However, I would like to propose that each and every one of us possess Divine God given tools that, if properly used are capable of seeing into universes way beyond our own. These tools are known in 'Arabic as Qalb, Ruh, Sirr and Akhfa. That is Heart of the spiritual heart, The Soul, Our Secret and our inner-most hidden Secret. These tools are the true astrolabe of God and our universe. It is said in a Holy Tradition that, "God was a hidden treasure and He Loved that He would be Known, He therefore created creation so that He maybe Known." In another tradition it is said, "He who knows himself knows his Lord." In yet another tradition it is said, "A servant of God draws closer to his Lord through the obligatory and he continues drawing nearer to his Lord through super-obligatory until his Lord loves him to the point that his Lord becomes his ear through which He hears, his eyes through which He sees, his tongue through which He speaks, his hands through which He holds and his feet by which He walks. When asked by the angel Gabriel, "What is I'hsaan ?" The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said, "It is to worship God as if you are seeing Him." Whatismore, we read in the Holy Qur'an, "I am nearer to man than his own jugular vein." The Qalb (Heart) of every person is a mirror and if it is polished correctly it is capable of reflecting God's Divine attributes that are imprinted upon his inner-most secret. Man's secret is that his Soul comes into existence through the Divine breath of The Most Merciful. These are but a few |
Quoting from the Old Testament we read that in the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was God, but what is a word other than sound ? We also read that in the beginning God created LIGHT , however , I digressed a little.
If we understand that first God the Divine created light and that, that light is creation's inner-most secret then what is the Soul ?
In the Holy Qur'an God says that He breathed into Adam a soul from His Soul. It is also written in the Holy Qur'an, "They ask you concerning the Ruh or Soul. Say, 'It is from the command of your Lord and of it you know very little." In the story about the miraculous birth of Jesus in the Qur'an, when Mary mother of Jesus questions, "How can it be that I am with child when no man has touched me ?" To which God responded that His command of thing that He desires is only that He say 'BE and IT IS'. Let us look at this verse closely. First the Soul is from His Amr or command and His command when He desires a thing is 'BE' and it is. So, in the beginning there was the Word and the Word was God. One of Jesus' names in the Qur'an is Ruhullah or Soul of God because he was brought into existence through God's command to be and he was without father.
The Soul of all things are brought into existence by way of God's command, why else would He say it is from His command ?
Now what purpose does the Soul serve us in This physical world ? God says in the Qur'an while informing the angel, "I am placing upon the earth a Divine Representative or Khalifah". Taking this bodily form of man to be a microcosm of the whole universe or macrocosm we could understand that the Khalifah or Divine Representative that God placed in the earth of man is his Soul.
The Soul, given its divine origin, with its inner-most secret light, serves man as his true knower of the unknowable God. Man, in his limited intellect, is incapable of knowing his Lord. However, God has placed His Light at the inner-most secret of man's Soul and were he to know himself in that sense then he would surely know his Lord.
