I've added a new entry to my book, "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.:

Aren't newbies supposed to receive positive, encouraging reviews? I am a dark/mystery writer (sometimes I do write inspiring writes as well, depending on my mood of course). I have only been on the site for a few days, and someone just wrote me a private review, stating that my write was dark (which was my intention), and that I must have really big problems in life....the only thing he could offer (or she), was for me to write something happier. Is it just me, or was that not only RUDE (none of their business!), but not helpful whatsoever to a writer who pens dark material? What a joke. So....how can I block this user from ever reading/reviewing my work again? *Smile*

Hi S. L. Stiles Author Icon and welcome to W.Com.

Click on your username in the LH menu - Options - Block/Ignore Members - add their username to both lists. *Smile*

You are correct, that does not sound like a constructive or helpful review. Fortunately, those reviews are very few and far between. *Smile*

We are a group for newbies, and reviewing guides for serious writers. *Bigsmile*

I hope to see you there.

I guess in any group there are unhelpful or downright obnoxious people. I've gotten a few of those types of reviews myself. Ignoring what they have to say and blocking them from further reviewing seems like a good idea to me. In the long run, I think you'll get far more useful reviews than irrelevant ones. And welcome to WDC! I hope you're enjoying your time here otherwise. ;)
What a moron! *Sick* Try to not let it get to you. Such pissers aren't worth the energy that would require. *Smile* I've received such a review, too, even worse was told I was a sick pervert spreading horror stories that aren't true. However, that story was rooted in something I a) experienced myself and b) had done additional research for the story I drafted. Of course, there never came a response after I wrote that back after I awoke from my horrified stupor. *Pthb* I was unsure if I should continue not only respective story but also my whole WDC-experience as such. Can you believe that? As you can see, I'm still here, know what my writing is worth, and have developed quite a thick skin by now concerning such Freuds in disguise. *Laugh* Be assured, most people here are helpful, encouraging, critical, even if a little mad in some cases, like me. *Laugh* Don't get me wrong now, but I got quite curious about what item the whole fuss was about. *hint* *Wink*
Welcome back, Stacy. *Bigsmile* It's been some time since you left almost five years ago. You had created a group called "Images in Ink" for sufferers of BIpolar Disorder which I was a member of. I only hope this isn't just a coincidence like you having the same initials as this "former" Stacy Stiles, and I didn't step on your toes, should that be the case. If so, I apologize. *Blush* And say "only": Welcome to WDC. *Bigsmile*

This is a surprise Good Deed Hello in compliance with "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.!
