I just folded my underwear and put them in a box in a drawer. Washed yesterday evening, hung to dry. The shirts should be dry as well. I don't use a dryer.
My trek across the bridge to go to market or to treat myself with a milkshake every Saturday is a weekly routine I look forward to.
The answer to that question is pretty involved, but there are themes I've seen come up a lot in many analyses: rosy retrospection making his previous actions seem less bad than they really were, men being actively courted by the GOP, low information voters (often voting on a single issue), and global discontent with incumbent parties.
With all that said, being scared is both reasonable and what the current "leadership" is hoping people feel. It's up to us to balance feeling that fear/despair and not surrendering to it. I hesitate to give advice on how to strike this balance. I know my approaches tend to not work for others. Perhaps the one thing I can say to start is there are voters with a sense of buyer's remorse out there. If you encounter them, why not lend an ear and let them talk it out? It's a way to start building a network.
Today is laundry day for grandpa. He is in his eighties. He comes and picks me up to go with him to help. He buys lunch I load the machines, I switch the machines. Half of the time he falls asleep in his chair. Then I fold everything but my brother in laws socks. (Let your imagination run as to why he dirties ten pair in a week and sends along no shorts or tshirts.)
I decided to blog about this because the May before last grandma passed. It made me very aware of how easily things can change, and outlined for me in silver the things that have not. I think laundry day is a comfort to grandpa because it is one day where he doesn't have to focus on the changes. He is free to forget that May and imagine Grandma is waiting for him at home, until the clean clothes are loaded in the car.
If you have had a loss try to find yourself a laundry day and let yourself have a little peace in that they are waiting for you in your true home.
