This book is about life on earth. Or actually about MY life on earth. Not what I DID, or where I have lived, or which emotion I have wrestled to master. (Well, maybe some of that I suppose.) I mean I have to scribble about something, don't I? Mainly I want to think, and think, and write a book about my thinking. Thoughts can offer opinions, commentary, artwork, humor, debate. I just want to talk, silently. About why I live, where I came from and why I was given days and years and people and dreams and sadness and how none of this was or is a coincidence. THAT'S what this is all about.
I am not interested in disecting a poet's lines to such a grade school level - noting where verbs are wrong or adverbs are in the wrong spot and flogging writers with punctuation demands.
I don't do this with fiction, either. I don't like it done to me, so I just don't.
It's cool to have your work in a newsletter, mine's not good enough. boohoo, others get several pieces included in the same edition. I thought they were supposed to keep it to one per member. They must be pretty good writers. Ah well, it's okay. I'll just have to include my own, I guess. Self-promote.
You know, I think I got two thank you's from writers I included in the last four newsletters. Do they think it's a right to be there, or my obligation to include them, or what? Maybe I'm just choosing badly. lol
Hahaha......thank you kindly. I think I'm O.K. And you're O.K. too.
E-mail me, tell me what's going on....you in better spirits lately?
I hope so.
Oh, hey....they put one of my poems in the latest Spiritual Newsletter.........didn't know a thing about that......but there it was.
COOL! So far, I've had two or three highlighted in the Spiritual Newsletter....and three selected for the Poetry Newsletter. I didn't even submit them for consideration - being in the Poetry Newsletter is the BOMB! Kansaspoet included me in his recent Newsletter, and helped edit my piece so it was just right. he's a sweetheart!
Most of the posted work is poems, I guess cause they're short and simple to do. Daily counts appear to be the priority.
Oh, and another thing.
WHEN PAUL REVERE mounted a borrowed horse and sped off toward Lexington, Mass., was he acting as a hero or a traitor? It all depends on your perspective.
Many members consider detail in observation, critiquing, and suggestions as negative, so you really can't blame them for not wanting them.
But, by golly, I've reviewed books that were put up for self-publication, and felt so bad for the writers. I felt bad that not one of their 'friends' had told them of any issues. I found out why after I reviewed them though. They would rather blame someone else for 'saying' it needs work than looking at it again. Since their 'friends' all said it was perfect, it was. Okay. I don't care either.
Did I tell you about the piece that magically became 'perfect' overnight, without any rewrite being necessary? A miracle!
I got my Lexapro today. He said give it four weeks, so he gave me samples to last until then. I've got my fingers crossed. You know all these groups to encourage and help depression victims? Why do they make it so hard on those not in the groups? Those that plead for others to treat everyone the same, don't.
Can I cuss in your blog? I'm okay and you're okay. I'm good. I'm okay. I don't want to read one more piece that needs work. I'm going to stick to those perfect pieces that everyone else finds - somewhere. I'm tired of the stress. I'm tired of trying, I'm just tired.
YEP, I've been checking over there more....and whoosh........like an Oklahoma wind plowing over the flatlands, all of a sudden, every damn book draft, chapter draft, draft, draft, draft has suddenly been hog-tied and given some fine, detailed examination. And the old faces have returned - finally.
Now.....if we can just get more Quality Poetry Reviews........Poetry gets barely a breath of Public Recognition on the PRP, and if made Public, the reviews are barely 300 words. But the FINE Poets on the site are too busy WRITING the best, and don't want to dilly-dally looking at drivel - especially free or blank verse. They want classical forms - sonnets etc.
I've read some mighty fine poems since joining and through my Review Forum......but it's hard to get these folks recognized (and I don't have the GP's to buy Badges or Awardicons. I just send them GP's (200) with my review. Maybe soon I can purchase $20.00 worth of GP's so I can get some of these fantastic poems recognized.
You will see some fine reviews on the public page if you look at last night and this morning. I hope they're still coming in. And you're right, I see members I haven't seen up there in a long time. It did my heart proud!
You know, writers pay real cash for the same kind of reviews I do here for free, and they appreciate the help.
