Since it's Halloween, write something about this scene." I don't have time right now to write a story. Let's just say things would not go well for the characters if I did. Prompt: “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.--”Robert Browning “One lives in the hope of becoming a memory.” ― Antonio Porchia How do you feel about anniversaries? Do you celebrate them all or certain milestone? What do you feel is the value in recognizing them?" It may just be a learned behavior but I never really made a big deal out of any holiday. Most holidays are pagan in origin and I usually don't make a big deal out of them. Sure I may adopt a spooky name at Halloween or say "Merry Christmas" during the holidays but I usually don't go all out to celebrate them. As to anniversaries and birthdays I usually take much the same tact. I see them as just a sign that I'm getting old and I'm not ready for that. So I don't want anybody else to feel old. My Lord tells me to treat others as I would want to be treated and I do my best to carry that out. I don't want to feel old so I try not to make anybody else feel old or remind them that they are now a year older. Birthdays are for children. Anniversaries are for the young. I will celebrate account anniversaries on here though. I do a lot of anniversary reviews each month. So maybe I'm a bit of a hypocrite in that respect. |
