Just shooting the poop with Lori
He travels the world on the backs of others
Insignificant in his stature and size
His journey carries no mission
Randomly roaming at the will of his host
Sated enough to never question his trek
Life is an open adventure without worry
If the excitement of his dusty trail dulls
Another bus awaits to grant passage
With a furry friend to carry him home
Ah the wonderful life of a flea

Today brings the Old Rugged Cross to my mind. That song touches my heart every time that I hear it. A song of faith, it speaks volumes about the love of Christ.and his gift to us. Remember the Cross and give thanks.

It's another rainy Sunday...oh wait... I think that's a song. It's a Spring rain filled with the scent of renewal. Palm Sunday is always a refreshing day in my book, as it brings faith to the forefront.Today, my family will take part in church festivities and partake of friendships new and old. We will celebrate the life of Jesus.. It is a personal experience for each individual but it is an opportunity to reconnect and take stock of the many blessings.

To all the souls brave enough to lay their hearts upon the empty page, I offer a field of daisies in which to romp. For it is in this field, that imagination takes flight and ideals shall be born. Step into the field of creativity and soar to heights yet unattained. L.A. Grawitch

I wrote this as part of my template for reviewing but with every fiber of my being I believe it. There are so many directions in which to run among the daisies or to soar against the backdrop of the clouds. The power to create newness lies within us all.

You know how they say just being nominated is enough. Well I have to say that it is, because just having someone notice your work is an exhilarating thrill. But then, life goes about its business and you place any thoughts about further recognition far from your mind. But then whammo, you are named as a finalist for a 2018 Quill Award. You glance at the list of writers that are also finalists and you become giddy with excitement. These are writers that you have admired and have hoped to garner enough talent to write like they do every day. I have goosebumps people, just for being grouped with such talented individuals. So yes, it is enough to be nominated but it is incredibly flattering to be a finalist with authors of this ilk I shall call today a very blessed day..

A couple things that tickled my fancy today that I must pass along.... First, I wanted to let you know that I bought memory foam shoes so that I can remember once again why I went into the kitchen in the first place. Second, Did you hear about the guy who went to see his psychiatrist wearing only Saran wrap as shorts. The psychiatrist said"Well, I can clearly see your nuts!" Laugh hard, laugh often.

I'm tapping my toes on the deck, while i sit in the sunshine with a cool breeze through my hair. This is the life I want to live! The sad news is that no one will let me sit for long periods. They keep invading my serenity with the mundane tasks of life. I shall enjoy it while I can. Beer, please......

I feel a sense of relief , having finished March's Shoot for the Stars assignments. I've been out of school for quite awhile so deadlines are not my friends. But I was successful on turning them in and at least meeting most of the criteria required. Yeah. me!
