Cubby Yes, it was something I'll never forget, but then I talk to the animals. Whether they answer or not it's their own biz. Legerdemain White ibis swoop down in flocks, some huge groups like 40-50 birds at a time, especially after and during the mowing of the lawns. Once in a while, a black ibis sneaks in with them. We also get eagles, ducks, wrens, crows, doves, and an occasional raven. I think FL is a haven for bird watchers. I'm not a bird-watcher but I like seeing them around. Bodhisattwa Parekh Sandhill Cranes are not quiet, really. They make an annoying croaking sound, but they are very people-friendly if they don't detect any harm.
How fun to have them come so close! Since I moved to FL, I have a lot of wildlife around my house. Sandhill cranes are cool, except during mating season, they're so loud! I also have limpkins, they're loud too! The egrets, herons, and ibis are lovely to watch. Now let's talk alligators!
Laughter is wonderful. That makes the situation lighter; that is considered a first to gaining environmental normalcy if it is heavy. Even if it happened a long, long time ago, over thirty years, bringing a smile – that must be helpful to normalise the situation.
I agree with you that no one can tell you what a friendship truly is. It is unconditional and non-expressible liking. It is very tough to get a true friend. It is a connection between two souls.
I wish I had close friends. It's been very hard for me to connect on a deeper level and when I did... other factors intervened. I'm glad to read that others here have had better experiences.
I agree, I have good friends who are still quite different to me in lots of ways. Sometimes when you have been friends for a long time, it is worth keeping that friendship going even if your lives are now very different.
