Since my old blog "Everyday Canvas " became overfilled, here's a new one. This new blog item will continue answering prompts, the same as the old one.

I wish I could hand off... decluttering. I actually enjoy washing dishes more than I used to, but getting rid of things is hard.

Losing connections is also hard. I moved (ran away) and I have very few connections from the past. I meet lots of new people when I travel, but that's not quite the same.

Loud noises make me jump. Strange unexpected noises put me on alert. I enjoy stillness.

I have 20+ spices. Gimme a potato, pasta or rice... I'll come up with something! I only cook for myself.

My daily routines are simple and boring when I'm "home". Traveling is becoming more difficult.

I'm just recovering from last cataract surgery. My eyesite has improved but will still need glasses to read. If somthing can be done to improve your eyesite..look into it and see if it's something you could do.
Keep writing.

Vic and I exchange cards and silly notes randomly during the year in addition to sharing Valentine candy and silly cards. Love doesn't need a Hallmark reminder.

I agree that every day is Valentine's Day - a chance to show love regularly.

Valentine's Day is also the birthday of my Valentine, so some extra love today.

All writers put their heart into it to bring us great stories. Other people like Mother Theresa are wonderful, too. I hope technology doesn't ruin things. Our hearts are ours and they belong to us. Good entry.

I should have mentioned the house I grew up in. It was three and a half stories and first floor more than half of it was a huge kitchen, which opened to the back yard. We all lived there. Sometimes we'd have family gatherings with extended family around a huge rectangular table that seated a lot of people. Somehow, that seems so far away! It was a different lifetime, almost. But now, I like my small corridor-kitchen just the same.

Prompt:
Have fun with these words: sudden, tepid, intervention, brown, despised, gateway, and creature.

Who says I can't try writing horror !

What If From a Gateway...

a *sudden crack in our *brown earth's seam
a *tepid whisper in the breeze of a dream

an ancient *gateway, now again revealed
with secrets *despised and power concealed

and the guardian awoke, eyes hollow and deep
as a *creature, rising from timeless sleep

it moaned an *intervention, or a warning clear
"Go and fix things!" I heard, despite my fear

then, the creature grew still and world turned gray
and his shadow danced in the fading day

was this a promise of fortune—or my doom,
for in that portal, the unknown did loom,

so I slowly stepped back and turned away
the choice was mine at the end of the day
