We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
“There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .” ― Charles Spurgeon “Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.” ― C. H. Spurgeon “Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.” ― Charles Haddon Spurgeon “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” ― Charles Spurgeon “A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” ― Charles Spurgeon “Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.” ― Charles Spurgeon “When your will is God's will, you will have your will.” ― Charles Spurgeon https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/2876959.Charles_Haddon_Spurgeon (Philippians 2:13, KJV) |
Made a gift, He made me to gift my life to God. Like the Lord to fully see, His wonders I applaud. Flowing heart in heart with Him, made to be as He. Privileged as His own friends, now He calls us, "we." Greater things than He had done, I do His wonders, now. Formed in God by His Own Son, in worship I do bow. Made a temple of the Lord. Made to glorify. Wondrous Promise of His Word, Now and Bye & Bye. Walking in the Freedom giv'n, I'm made new in Christ. Blessed days so fully livin' for He paid the Price. Make an impact on this world because He lives inside. "Damned by sin," that curse is hurled. "It's for those tears I died." Because I breathe I'm fully loved. He made me for His own. He keeps me now as blest, reproved, restored, His flesh and bone. "He walks with me and talks with me. He tells me I'm His" best. He loves the me, that He can see, endured He did my test. To know the Father, look at Christ. I'm tuned by His true fork. He saved me through blest, paid Price. No loved one will He shirk. Accepted fully in His Heart, I've nothing more to do. Death to self from ev'ry start, receive this life all new. "He works together for my good, all things that come my way." I feast on Christ, my living food, my face, His Glorious display. He measured up. In Him, I live, communing in His Grace. To this life all me I give. My heart, Your Kingly place. Established in His Covenant, partakers with His Son, redeemed in Christ through certain rest, we're new, and we are one. Partakers of His Sacrifice, accepted in His love, all chosen to be worth the Price, made fit to live Above. Accepted amnesty from Sin, "I cannot change my past. Accept, that it's all done and been. My love will ever last." The Mercy of the Loving One is all I now receive. My blessed Lord, God's Only Son, I lovingly believe. by Jay O’Toole on March 13th, 2022 |
