A voracious reader, and father, who has always had a drive to entertain others with his own flights of fancy. I am working with my children, to instill in them, this same "need", despite the fact that I agree with Rob Heinlein's commentary on author-hood in "The Cat Who Walked Through Walls", and realize an author, in throes of creation, needs to sequester him/herself from the outside world, and is likely to bite or break into tears, if interrupted. |
Sc-Fi, mostly, much military in nature, some fantasy, some drama |
Urg...a bunch. Theology, societal history, aspects of hard sciences, maths, military history, several narrow-swath fields of psychology, sociology...basically, if I get curious, I read on it until bored. |
Military Science Fiction, Hard Science Fiction, "modern mythology", Action based Thriller... |
Urm...I have three 6' bookshelves stuffed two high and two deep per shelf full of paperbacks, right now...I think highly of John Ringo's Paladin of Man series, The Last Centurion, and David Weber's Honorverse, currently... |
Terry Pratchett, David Weber, John Ringo, Lynsay Sands (Argeneau books, anyhow...sue me! My wife got me addicted!), William Deitz, William Gibson....and more. |
Poe, Longfellow, Shakespeare, Kipling |
High energy stuff...mostly melodic metal (a lot of "gothic metal, right now), some 90's goth punk, some 90's techno, classic hard rock and acid rock, classical dramatic (as opposed to chamber music)...basically anything, really. |
Tombstone, Boondock Saints 1 and 2, any comic book based movie, excluding "Watchmen"... |
