I am former librarian, history teacher and guitar tutor and performer who has also worked as a freelance journalist, having published a number of travel and local history articles. I have also a post-graduate IT qualification. I am married with one child, and try to live the life of a good Christian who is attempting to understand the great mysteries of life and death. |
I now mainly write religious, utopian and spiritual type material, and have recently finished my first novel, Paradise World. |
My writing style is serious and matter-of-fact for non-fiction, in contrast to my more animated style for fiction. |
Playing and teaching the guitar, particularly the classical guitar, had been my passion until injuries abruptly put an end to that. Now my passion has turned towards literature, history, religion and studies of the paranormal. |
Historical, religious and spiritual fiction. I also like some science fiction as well. |
For a long time, the most influential book for me had been the Bible. However, other books like Kenneth Ring's "Life After Life" and other similar type books have also had a great influence on me, mainly because I also had a profound NDE. |
Amongst fiction writers, I like W. Somerset Maugham, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jack London, HG Wells and Jules Verne. Amongst modern writers, I have a liking towards John Grisham, Jean Plaidy and Umberto Eco. |
William Blake, Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson. |
"Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You." - Jesus - Matt 7:12 |
Romantic classical guitar, and the soft and sedate old-time crooners are now what I enjoy listening to. If you are old enough, you will know what I mean: Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Jim Reeves, and even some of the romantic songs of Elvis Presley. |
Like my beloved wife, I like watching the old-time Hollywood movies, particularly those that have an uplifting spirit to them: "It's a Wonderful Life," "Lilies in the Field," "The King of Kings," and the 1951 version "The Day the Earth Stood Still." |
