At this point in my life, I have only been published in local magazines and had never considered writing as a career until last November when I lost my job. I knew it was time to pursue the dream and try to make what I love into an actual profession. So far I have completed one novel and I am well on my way to completing the second. |
I write fiction, and nonfiction according to my mood. |
I would be the first to admit that I don't know how to characterize my style, although I'm sure I've borrowed from my idols. |
Music, art, reading, camping, biking, and traveling. |
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but for the sake of this website, I'll claim fiction. |
Please Kill Me, For Whom the Bell Tolls, On the Road, The Big Sleep, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, The Grapes of Wrath, One River, The Three Musketeers, Heart of Darkness, A Scanner Darkly, Cat's Cradle, The Underdogs, The Falcon |
Phillip K. Dick, Joseph Conrad, Flannery O'Connor, Ralph Ellison, Eduardo Galeano, Jorge Luis Borges, John Steinbeck, Oscar Wilde, Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, Isabel Allende, Homer, Julia Alvarez |
Vladimir Mayakovsky, Charles Bukowski, Verlaine, Velimir Khlebnikov, Tony Tost, e.e. cummings, Pablo Neruda, Paul White, Allen Ginsberg, Patti Smith, Walt Whitman |
if you wish, I shall grow irreproachably tender: not a man, but a cloud in trousers!-Mayakovsky |
My favorite music is not of any specific genre or artist, it is that which speaks to my soul on any given day. |
My favorite movie of all time is nothing heady or profound, it's Indiana Jones. I don't feel compelled to tell you the other half million that I've liked, other than to say, you probably liked them too. |
