I was born and raised in western North Carolina and at the age of 18 joined the Navy and spent the next 22 years traveling around the world. I retired from the Navy in 1991. In 2007 I established the Great Aswego Kazoo Factory and began following my passion as a folk artist/instrument maker creating traditional wooden folk kazoos. I am also an independent folk musician/songwriter/poet with my first album "Across The River" released in the fall of 2010. |

My style has been influenced by so many. From Whitman to Voltaire as well as ancient philosophers of Asia and Greece. |
Of course folk instruments and music are at the top of the list. I love making videos of all types from wildlife to music productions. I also enjoy recording and producing my own music in my home recording studio. |
