Summary of this Book...
What an utterly beautiful book.

Four friends — Angie, Maggie, Leon and Tiger — meet at university, and this book follows their lives and their friendships as they all grow up and forge their own paths in life.

Angie is the enigmatic character who draws the reader in with her carefree, unself-conscious personality. When she has a daughter, Romany, as a single woman, the others continue to be there for her — although, she does a cracking job on her own.

The book begins with Annie’s death age 50-51. Her daughter, Romany, is eighteen. Maggie, Tiger, Leon and a recent friend of Angie’s, Hope, are asked with Romany to the solicitor’s office. Angie has left a letter leaving each of the adults responsibility of Romany’s life and development. In typical Angie style, she has left each person the exact responsibilities they need, and they all come together to look out for Romany until she takes her A Levels. And it made me tear up more than once.

Ther were a couple of places where I felt it could have moved a bit quicker, but by the time I reached the end, I just felt warm and happy.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who loves to read about friendship and growing up, moving into adulthood. It's a story that takes part over thirty-plus years, and it is just wonderful.
I especially liked...
Angie and Romany. Their relationship is tender and warm and absolutely beautiful. That is a word I think best describes this book: beautiful. But, also, it is very funny and incredibly moving.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Decompress. I had tears in my eyes at the end, and I had to take a moment to let it all settle.
This Book made me feel...
Warm and happy. Also, sad, wistful. It made me think back on my years at university and the friends I made and have always had. It made me feel nostalgic.
