Summary of this Book...
The book opens up with the celebration of Queen Victoria’s Diamond jubilee, setting the stage for the book. The book not only deals with the transition of the British navy from sail to steam, as well as the construction of the German fleet. The book also deals with the political machination and royal familial relations that led the Germans and British from being allied in the nineteenth century to being enemies in the twentieth century.
This type of Book is good for...
Individuals who want to learn more about this aspect of World War I without getting “bogged down” by facts tediously presented.
I especially liked... | ||
The attention given to significant historical figures, such as Jackie Fisher and Wilhelm II. I also appreciate the details relating the transition of the British fleet from sail to steam, and the difficulty of changing the mindset of British naval officers to new realities.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Learn more about the subject.
