I don't know what it is about Stephen Konkoly's books, but I just cannot get into them. This is the third or fourth book of his that I've read in different series and I just cannot get into them. And there's nothing specifically wrong with them per se, they're just generic. It's a standard black ops type protagonist trying to stop some standard terrorist-type bad guy from enacting some nefarious plot to destroy the current world order, etc. etc. etc. He kind of reminds me of David Archer and some of the other authors in the self-publishing space where the books just don't have that extra something that makes them memorable and turns the protagonists into a household name in the industry the way that Jack Ryan, Mitch Rapp, etc. are.

Overall, I can't say that I don't recommend the book because it was just fine... but unless you're super into this genre and are out of other things to read, I think you can find better options out there.
