Summary of this Book...
Can you believe a U.S. Army infantryman in World War II, Don Wedewer was wounded twice in four days and was left for dead? This book tells the story of survival against all odds and the will to live despite severe injuries. It also shares with the reader the return home and how after many hospitalizations throughout the country this person found strength and direction to be a contributing member of society. He spearheaded the path with help from people he met and persistence to get help for other wounded veterans who lost their sight in the war. Despite many setbacks and major challenges he did many things the average person does, but he went above and beyond the norm.

The descriptions of battles and injuries might be disturbing to some readers, but if these readers can read these it is worth reading this book.
Further Comments... | ||
I can relate to disABILITY because I have these challenges and it is because of this that I was able to read this book and feel and understand many of the challenger the veteran faced. I learned a lot about the hospitalization system in the armed forces because of the information in this book.
