Summary of this Book...
This is a Hercule Poirot novel. Even better, Ariadne Oliver plays a prominent part. I love Ariadne Oliver. She's funny and Coll and weird, and all the good things I like to read in characters. In this book, Miss Oliver is cornered at a party by the hideous Mrs Burton-Cox, who asks her to uncover the truth behind the deaths ten years ago of her son's fiancé's parents. Celia Ravenscroft's mother and father were found dead at the top of a cliff, and both had been shot. The burning question was: Who had shot whom? Had Celia's mum shot her husband, and then herself? Or had he shot her and then himself? Or had someone else shot both of them and left the gun lying next to them to throw people off? Together, Poirot and Ariadne work to uncover the truth of what happened to them. And it's a fantastic conclusion. I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy read, and it didn't take long for me to finish at all.
