Summary of this Book...
I absolutely loved this book. I fell in love with Atticus, Tom, and Atticus's and Tom's relationship. This is a story of giving, adventure, true love, and respect. Atticus is a miniature Schnauzer, who along with his owner: a slightly overweight newspaperman, out of the blue, start hiking the mountains. Tom vows they'll hike all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000-foot peaks in 90 days to raise money for Cancer Research, and then an Animal Hospital. They're not your regular hiking team, but that doesn't stop either one of them. They don't only hike in the summer but also hike and climb the peaks in the winter. They both face challenges along the way and along the way, a whole community falls in love with them as well. When Atticus faces two very serious trials, the community pulls together to help them through. This book is a story of unlikely heroes, accomplishing dreams and goals no matter the odds, appreciating nature and the beauty God created, friendship between people, and friendship between humans and animals, support that comes out of the woodwork, but especially, it's a love story—a love story of a man and his dog, who set out on an unbelievable adventure to help others. It's a friendship that will warm your heart, and leave you feeling good. It's a beautiful story.
