It was a joy and a delight to read.

The photography is delightful, the Bible verses plentiful and relevant, and the devotionals truly inspiring. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book so much I stretched out it's reading longer than needed. I had originally intended to read it last November/ December, but I was given another Christmas devotional that I don't think I finished until January or February of this year. Unfortunately for that other book, I just kept thinking how much I'd rather be reading this one. You see, I read this one before, in the hardcover version, and I *loved* it. I'm not sure if that was back in 2018, when it was first published, or the year after, that I originally read it, but I remember loving it.

The hardcover book is a real delight. If you can manage paper books, I do recommend that over this kindle version. Though I own the hardcover version, I was unable to hold it when I was ready to read it again, so I bought the Kindle version (as one of my reward books - see my Dear Me 2024 letter for more information - it's in the 2024 writing folder near the top of my portfolio here).

Right now, the hardcover is about three dollars less than the kindle version. So that's something to consider too.

Throughout reading this book, I found myself pausing to pray and reflect on the Bible verses. This is something I appreciate. If you're looking to speed-read it, it'd be a quick read. But if, like me, your goal is to savor it and grow in your faith and relationship with the Lord, it's perfectly fine to take months or however long you need to read it.

On a black and white kindle, it's okay, but on a color one, on a phone, or on the website, I thought it was fantastic. It seemed like maybe there were fewer pictures? But there were still plenty of beautiful winter pictures. Today, with it being hot and humid, I especially liked seeing snow and ice.

The best part of the book is that the devotionals are written as though our Lord Jesus Christ is speaking directly to us. They are based on Bible verses and the author takes great care to keep things Biblically true and sound. I found this to be a highly comforting and encouraging book. I'm glad I didn't wait until Christmastime to read it again.

I bookmarked and highlighted so many things in this book that I can't even count how many. It's definitely one I plan to read again.

Despite being published in 2018, and today being Memorial Day 2024 (I doubt many people are buying Christmas books today), this book currently ranks on the following Amazon best seller lists:

I suspect it will rise much higher in November and December.

I love this book so much that I have given the hardcover version to friends and family as gifts. I really can't recommend it enough.
