Summary of this Book...
Saving Ruth deals with an eating disorder. Ruth was chubby as a child and went on a diet. When she lost weight, she was terrified of gaining it back, and would hardly eat anything. When she did eat, she made up for it with extra exercise. Everyone close to her is worried about her. But she still sees herself as having a stomach that pooches out, Even though she is extremely thin.

She is the little sister to a big brother who in her parent's eyes, can do no wrong. He's a popular soccer star, who won a scholarship playing soccer in college. She always felt inferior to him, and her parents always blamed her for anything that went wrong.

When the two come home from college for summer vacation, is when many hidden secrets come to the surface. Surprises and concerns come from both of the kids.
I especially liked...
Easy read. Memorable characters.

Addresses an important eating disorder, and siblings who keep secrets from each other and their parents.
I didn't like...
I think it could have done a better job showing the negative effects of the eating disorder. I think they should have gone a bit deeper with the physical and emotional turmoil surrounding this disorder.
