Judy a dog who survived as a prisoner of war dog did incredible acts to take care of her immediate family of service men. Together they struggle to survive the savagery of the Japanese and nature while being driven to work and starve to death. The English pointer is shipwrecked twice, injured, has encounters with a culture that sees dogs a delicious meal, and does incredible acts that keep everyone together. This book also has details of the history of the time period and unforgettable characters to show you the reality of serving in the military and the reality of being a POW. Judy is the only dog who is documented as a POW that I know of at this time. | ||

I feel a great respect for Judy and her family of POWs. My feelings for Judy and what she did are deep with respect for her and for her unique abilities. It is an honor to have known her through this book. | ||

Judy's story is more than well worth reading. She is one of the bravest dogs I have ever gotten to know through books. Her story will keep people on the edge of their seat and reading. | ||

The story of Judy is one I very much cherish. Through this book I got to know her and feel she is a live in my memory. I salute you Judy. | ||
