A wood's guide Richard Cypher life is interrupted when he sees a young woman getting attacked by assassins. He helps her and discovers that she is from the Midlands a section of the world beyond a mystical barrier. That area is under attack by a dark wizard who seeks to gain the power of Orden which would gives its wielder the power to control the world.

Richard offers to help her and finds himself on a Journey in a world that he is not familiar with.

Fantasy Fans. If you love Wizards and Magic, this is a great series to get into.

I had to pick up the Sequels in this series.

Good. I enjoyed the Fantasy elements in it and it has an exciting storyline.

It has great fantasy elements and world setup.

This is a great novel with magic and swordplay and many Fantasy element. It a little bit darker than typical books in the Fantasy genre that most people are used to. It can even top Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead at some points in gruesomeness and some adult scenes.

The best segments of this deal with Wizards and Magic. There is also a bit of Swordplay as Richard is given a weapon called the Sword of Truth which allows him to focus his skills and his ability to determine the truth in the world around him.
