This was an Amazon First Read, and I don't think I've ever read an Ian Rankin book before (at least not that I can recall), so I thought this would be a good entry point. This story was essentially a "murder in a classy AF residential high rise" and it was... just okay. I wasn't overly impressed with the characterization or the murder mystery; this thing was only 86 pages and I found myself skimming toward the second half. There just wasn't anything unique or engaging about this story, once the coolness of the cutting-edge residential building was explored in the first twenty pages or so.
