Summary of this Book...
"Marry Me

Cara Paulsen does not give up easily. A scientist and a single mother, she's used to fighting for what she wants, keeping a cool head, and doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter Janie. But "whatever it takes" has never before included a shotgun wedding to a dangerous-looking stranger with an attitude problem. . .

Or Else

Sure, the mysterious Talen says that he's there to protect Cara and Janie. He also says that he's a three-hundred-year-old vampire. Of course, the way he touches her, Cara might actually believe he's had that long to practice. . .

"Hot and fast from beginning to end." --Kate Douglas" From Amazon's description of the book
This type of Book is good for...
People who like paranormal, romance, and/ or suspense stories.
I especially liked...
It was action packed and I loved Cara, her daughter and Talen's characters.
I didn't like...
There was a certain kind of violence that required the GC rating for the book. I get that it was necessary for the story and she didn't go overboard, but it isn't for everyone.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Read the next one.
This Book made me feel...
Everything Cara felt. I even love plants like she does. Maybe not quite as much... I wouldn't put saving a houseplant over saving my life, but I do rescue them.

It was exciting and fast paced and everything I like in paranormal romantic suspense.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It can be more graphic than desired in places.
Further Comments...
This is the opening of "The Dark Protectors" series and tells the romantic paranormal suspense story of Cara and Talen. It also introduces Janie's story, which will become critical in a later book. And Cara's sister gets an intro here (she gets her own book too, I think it was before Janie did, because Janie had to grow up to get her book).

This series involves multiple non-human races, the Vampires (mostly good, can be in daylight), the Kurjans (mostly evil, ugly, can't be in daylight), and shifters. I think that's all that were in this book. Later in the series, demons, witches and fairies are also introduced.

I loved a lot about this book, especially the characters and that it stayed exciting or endearing throughout. The most endearing part wasn't even romantic. It was the great way Talen's family welcomed Janie into the family and all looked out for her, even putting their lives on the line to protect her. (Janie is Cara's daughter.)

The romance turned out great, too, even if it started out a bit unbelievably. Of course, for Cara, the whole thing was wildly unbelievable. A vampire at her door telling her she needed to grab her daughter and get on the run with him to save their lives when she had no idea they were even in danger. Quite the beginning. I don't want to spoil the rest, but I will say that I enjoyed the book and quickly devoured it and immediately requested the next one from my library.

I borrowed this book from my local library. It is currently included in the Kindle Unlimited program (as is the book I reviewed yesterday, though I forgot to mention that), so if you're paying for that, you can borrow this one for "free."
