I recommend this Book because...
I've heard Adam Grant's name mentioned in a number of articles, podcasts, etc. but this is the first book of his that I've ever read. I thought it was really interesting and well-researched, if a little overwritten. It's clear that Grant is a brilliant thinker, a meticulous researcher, and a compelling writer, but it's clear that he really loves his subject matter and keeps referring to it over and over again throughout his book. Which is fine, I suppose, but with these kinds of books on topics like creativity, business success, critical thinking, etc. I personally prefer a variety of examples rather than several points being made that refer to just one or two examples. It starts to feel a little recycled to me when the same story keeps getting retold to make different points. That said, the points made in this book about how creativity is fostered and stifled are really interesting, and there are definitely some takeaways that I'm going to be thinking about for a while. And I'll definitely be taking a look at some of Adam Grant's other books; this one was enough to convince me that whatever subject he tackles will be well-thought out and interesting.
