Summary of this Book...
This is book one of America Singer's story and focuses on the "Selection" which is like "The Bachelor" but on a royal scale with higher stakes and without the roses.

Prince Maxon is a better catch than America Singer realizes at first and, although she had really entered the Selection to please other people and was opposed to ending up paired with Maxon, slowly she starts opening her heart to him. Of course, there are still a lot of other young ladies far more eager for the crown and/or the price.

On top of the romantic drama, there's family drama, rebel attacks and some mystery.

It's set in a fictional future world that's a mix of better and worse. I found it highly engaging, enjoyable, and easy to read. America is a great young adult heroine, flawed yet completely loveable and cheerable.

This type of Book is good for...
People who like romance, drama, young adult stories, futuristic stories or just a good story.
I especially liked...
America's character, Maxon's character, the good supporting characters, how the author handled communicating America's feelings without bogging the pace of the book down.
I didn't like...
That it wasn't the whole story and the ending wasn't the best for be because I really had expected America to make a firm choice in the romance department by the end of this book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next one. But I had to go to sleep. I have already borrowed the next one though and am looking forward to reading it.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was America's confidante and was with her there on the journey.
The author of this Book...
From Amazon: "Kiera Cass graduated from Radford University with a degree in History. She grew up in South Carolina and currently lives in Blacksburg, Virginia with her family. In her spare time, Kiera enjoys reading, dancing, making videos, and eating unhealthy amounts of cake. You can learn more about Kiera at kieracass.com, follow her on twitter via @kieracass, and see her silly videos at YouTube.com/user/kieracass."
I recommend this Book because...
It was a great read for me and I enjoyed it.
I don't recommend this Book because...
There's a bit of emotional silliness but that's to be expected in a character her age.
