Summary of this Book...
Heads up--I listened to this book through Audible. I didn't actually read it. FYI, the telling of it is great. *Smile*

I rated this (and all the others in the series) 18+ mostly due to language. There are also some descriptions of gore, but it's mostly monster gore, so not sure how to rate that. There isn't (thus far) any romance. There is sometimes some drinking, but nothing else beyond that.

This is the 3rd in a series about a human, Montana (his name he chose when he entered the game), who was put into a role playing game along the lines of World of Warcraft in order to escape death in the real world. That was all around the first couple of chapters of the first book. Since then, the rest of the series is about his adventures in the game, which most others doesn't realize is a game. It's just their life.

The series is written as a continuation. The first chapter of a book briefly recaps the last events of the previous book. There might be a few discrepancies (such as the last book ending with a guy saying that since he had nothing, he had nothing to lose, but this book started with him saying that since he had nothing, he had everything to gain), but it's nothing one is likely to notice unless reading (or listening) immediately back to back like I have done. Each book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.

This book is about Montana rescuing the man who agreed to be his mentor. Montana's adopted father was killed at the end of the last book/beginning of this book and the mentor killed that person, so he went to prison. Montana helps him and a couple other people escape the prison, but they end up in a dungeon (like those of fantasy role playing games) trying to escape, killing monsters, finding treasures, etc.
This type of Book is good for...
People who enjoy snarky, sarcastic characters, though he has matured and toned it down some. It's also good for people who enjoy the fantasy genre and/or role playing games.
I especially liked...
I always like Montana's interactions with other characters. He's funny. He sometimes recognizes that he is wrong, but still doesn't acknowledge it. He knows he doesn't fit in, but sometimes uses that to his advantage. He's basically a very entertaining character.
I didn't like...
I'm just being picky, but I didn't like that this book didn't use the exact same dialogue that the previous one ended on. Also, I realize his character sheet is getting pretty long and in the first book, I thought he reviewed it too often, but now I wish he'd review it a tad more often. I forget things. For example, he'll run across a level 12 monster and I'm like, "Uh, is that bad? Good? Okay? What level is Montana again?"
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Download the next in the series. I've also been dabbling in cozy mysteries, but am really enjoying this book and am wondering if there is a way I could combine the idea of a cozy mystery with a role playing game fantasy. Sure, it would be WAY off base from a traditional cozy, but still, it could be interesting...
This Book made me feel...
Happy, amused, interested, curious, (fill in other positive emotions--basically, I really enjoyed this book.
The n/a of this Book...
Creative--I enjoy this series. Along with "The Good Guys" series that I'm currently reading, he's also got a series called "The Bad Guys." I'm curious to know if it's sort of the stories from a different character's view point or what. I guess I'll find out because I plan to read it after this series. *Smile*
I recommend this Book because...
It's fun, funny, creative, exciting, and just generally a great book. Mind you, I listened to it as an audio book, but it was really well done.
