This is a short story about a man who is losing weight but his appearance doesn’t change. Not only that but no matter what he’s holding he always weighs the same, including people. Though this is what pulls us in, the main reason for the story besides reading about him losing weight until he weighs nothing, is the effect the entire situation has had on his life and attitude towards those around him, especially his difficult lesbian neighbor whom he insists on making friends with.

Positive outlooks on life no matter what your situation. This is definitely a feel good story that leaves you feelings rainbows and sunshine even with its odd tale. But if you need a quick boost and a need to feel good for humanity this book will definitely give you that.

How Scott faced the adversity of most of his community in order to try and help out the lesbian couple whose business was struggling for no other good reason except of their sexual orientation.

I didn’t like the ending. I didn’t like what Scott ended up doing and I didn’t like not knowing just what the heck happened to him and how it happened. We get left with a huge mystery from the beginning of the book and we never get the answer.

Honestly, I wanted to train to run a marathon. This story definitely gave encouragement to that part of the world. I became very interested in participating in marathons in my future.

Good about the human race. So many people fall into quick judgments with no reason other than they don’t know any better and everyone in the story learns to let go of some prejudices and focus on the good that can be in people and not judge everyone based on past experience.

Stephen King amazes me with his ability to write in so many different genres. But the man also kills me with his short stories that leave you hanging in some areas wondering what the heck just happened?

It is a feel-good story that will leave you misty-eyed and encouraged. It’s a quick easy read and the audible even comes with an extra short story.

The only reason I don’t recommend this book is my frustration in not finding out how or why he has the issues he’s having. We’re reeled into the book with the premise of his weight issue and never getting closure on it drives me crazy.
