Summary of this Book...
I had high hopes for this book and it started out pretty good. It is set in the late 1930s in Montauk, when the island first got started as a swanky resort town.

It fell apart with the romance involved when a married woman falls in love with the lighthouse keeper. The protagonist is so selfish and self-absorbed that she leads other people into death and tragedies.

Then, in the end she, the first person storyteller ends up with almost everything she wanted. She has very little in the way of remorse to express over the death and destruction in her path.

I kept reading, hoping the book would somehow improve, but it never did. The writer has potential - she shows that in the beginning of the book, but this one fell apart in the execution.

I wouldn't recommend it and felt the time I spent reading was wasted. It was a shame to see that after a good beginning - I wouldn't buy another of her books though. If it's free I might check it out.
