Summary of this Book...
This book is about a family, focusing mostly on the mother, of a girl who, at the age of 15, disappeared. Much of it is set 10 years later when they finally find out what happened to her and her mother is trying to move on. However, she's got a strange feeling about the man she's recently started seeing, primarily because his daughter, Poppy, looks so much like her daughter, Ellie, from 10 years ago.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like books sent in England, books about character progression, and books without a lot of suspense.
I especially liked...
The descriptions used were wonderful, in my opinion. She described things in unusual ways.
I didn't like...
The fact that the book was so easy to figure out. There wasn't much mystery involved. Also, I thought the book was pretty much done because I'd already figured out what had happened, then I discovered there were still 4 hrs left. They weren't horrible hours, but I think she could have compacted the story if she wasn't going to drag out the suspense.
The author of this Book...
Has a wonderful way with language.
I recommend this Book because...
Although I did miss the suspense I felt could have easily been included, I enjoyed the author's style and the story line. The rating of 3 for the Author's Writing Style is because I wanted more suspense as this appeared to be a very suspenseful story. But the way it was presented, she took the suspense out of it. But otherwise, I did enjoy her writing style, especially in terms of the descriptions of things and how we got a look into the mind of the mother.
