I think it's partly due to the fact that I was so into the story set up in PLANET OF THE JAPES and TIME TITAN OF TOMORROW (which I think are two of the author's best books of all that I've read so far), but this resolution to the storyline established in that trilogy fell a little flat for me. Don't get me wrong, it's still Space Team and therefore still really enjoyable... but I wanted there to be a little more to the narrative. It felt like half the book was assembling the larger group and the second half was bouncing around to different characters without any of them really having a moment to shine. And the climactic battle with the bad guy that was three books in the making kind of fell flat. That said, this book still had the author's trademark humor (some of the best laughs of the series, IMO), and I will certainly be looking forward to reading on in the series.
