Summary of this DVD...
This movie is the sixth and final Thin Man movie. I have seen all of them. I own five, but will not be buying this one anytime soon. I checked it out from the library.

It was made in 1947 and at this point it is 13 years since the first one. Powell, especially is getting on in this one. He is in his 50s and Loy is in her 40s in this one.

There is a lot of jazz music in this one and an inane plot. The saving grace is Asta the dog and Nick Jr. I still love the characters and all the Thin Man movies, but they definitely should have quit with #5, while they were at the top of their game.

This one starts on a party boat with a murder and ends, as always, with Nick solving the case. Bee Bop music is featured as is "hip" language of the day that seems as silly as the things said and tweeted currently. Keenan Wynn has a very strange part in this - I didn't recognize him and I know he had a good career afterward. He's heavily into jazz talk in this.

The cast is good and it's entertaining, but I wouldn't buy it when I can get it for free from the library.
