I thought the writing was excellent and the story was well-told, but the plot and characters were a little too formulaic for my tastes. I know that's kind of par for the course for the procedural genre, but I was hoping for something a little fresher, especially given the author's ingenious work in other genres. That said, this was a really solid story and those who enjoy procedural stories will find a lot to like here.
