I had put this off forever because I assumed it would be a really difficult read. This version is definitely not, so if that's something that's holding you back, rest assured it's clear and accessible writing.

What I found most intriguing is the influence the story had on Judeo-Christian-Islamic mythology.

As much as I enjoyed it, it did read a bit dry for my liking, though like I say, it was incredibly clear and well done. I appreciated the extensive endnotes, and as I sifted through them, I was able to piece together the different interpretations the author drew on, as well as gain a greater understanding of the amount of text that is missing from the original tablets.

It's a quick read, a few hours give or take, depending on how in-depth you want to examine the text.

An intriguing tale of power, friendship, love, mortality and morality, with pieces you will recognize as having transcended millenia, working their way into current storytelling, either in theme or in reference.

Well worth the read.
