When I saw how Spike Lee disrespected this movie that won the Best Picture Oscar, I knew I wanted to see it.

Why? Because Spike Lee is childish and not that talented to be making this sort of pronouncement. He got a little full of himself for winning a writing Oscar and wanted to weigh in and ironically "Do the WRONG Thing"

I was not disappointed, as this was a great story with wonderful performances from start to finish. And it had a nice ending - very well done.

This is the true story of a famous piano playing black musician who wants to tour in the deep south in the early 1960's. He hires a mob connected guy from The Copa nightclub, with a shady past, to drive him. The Green Book is the guide for black people to know where they can comfortably go and stay in the deep south. The book really doesn't have that much to do with the actual story - they take it out a couple of times and page through it to find places to stay.

The relationship between the brilliant musician (Marshahala Ali) and Mortensen's character becomes one of respect and ultimately, friendship, with some major concessions on both their parts.

Marshala Ali is always brilliant and he didn't disappoint here. Viggo Mortensen was also great in the role and would have been a super Oscar pick in a tough year. I could see why this won best picture.

As for Spike Lee's film, a friend told me it was boring and they don't know anyone who liked it. Good enough for me to stay away when you add that to his childish and boorish behavior.

This is a film to remember and watch over again. Great choice as best picture! If Spike Lee trashes something in the future, I'll be there to watch it. He's just that dopey.
