Summary of this Book...
This is not a teaching-how-to-write book, but an author’s own search and research into the fine and general points of writing as she lives life and experiences it with her partner Janine through the several, very different locations they move to or travel.

As Sullivan considers her art to be a creative work in progress, her content sounds both like a journal and a questionnaire to herself on writing. When she hits on an idea or a question, she names it a “Ponder Point”; in fact, it would benefit any writer to look into those ponder points more carefully and think about them.

Some of her experiences in some parts of the country, like in North Dakota, was new to me and I also liked the first-person look at places and writing challenges. Above all, I appreciated the sincerity in the writing and the humor that showed up every once in a while.

All in all, it is not a bad idea for all writers to emulate Sheila M. Sullivan’s example, that is to keep on taking notes on what ails or cheers or poses questions concerning their writing life. I think this has been the author’s aim in the first place.

This type of Book is good for...
learning how to think about one's own writing.
I especially liked...
the ponder points and the experiences.
This Book made me feel...
good about the writing process.
The n/a of this Book...
is Sheila M.Sullivan, the writer of Spectrum and Illumination.
I recommend this Book because...
It is easy to read and enjoy, especially if one is a writer.
